I have a Klic-n-Kut XL machine that has rarely been used, I am now attempting to set it up on a PC that is running Windows 7. I have my original dongle and licence disc, unfortunately I cannot find my instruction manual and the Kli-n-Kut Studio software will not load as there is an error on the disc. I live in Scotland and I’m finding it very difficult to get any help with being able to use my machine.
Please can someone help give me some advice.

The software to download is here: http://www.iloveknk.com/Support/Software/KNK-Studio-V8-for-Older-KNKs/
From your license CD, you’ll want to copy/paste the TWO files called Products and place them in the folder where you install KNK Studio: c:\Klic-N-Kut Studio Elements (or something like that). Those files will overwrite my own so that YOUR dongle will then work.
You’ll need to install the driver for your cutter: http://knkusa.com/resources/ (your model is called 1st and 2nd Gen)
Let me know if I can help with anything else.March 10, 2017 at 2:29 pm #13355
Thank you for all your help, I have followed your instructions and have managed to get the software on my PC, unfortunately I am having difficulty with the final set up of the KNK Studio Version 8, when I open the ports subfolder, the USB is not labelled and I can see that there in an unknown device appearing linking to the device. I tried to post a more detailed description with screen dumps of my port setting etc on here the other day, but it is not appearing on this thread.
Please can you give me some advice on how I proceed, I am very grateful for your help!

The dongle driver that installed with the program is likely outdated. You can get a new driver for the dongle from the gemalto website (search for sentinel hasp driver) for your OS.
