I just want to share a piece of advice that has helped me a lot with the KNK.
I cut lots of labels and use mainly thin (60-100 gsm), recycled paper. Recycled paper is beautiful but it can be a nightmare to cut! It tears very easily, especially if the air humidity is high (it soaks the moisture up and makes it even harder to cut) – and it always is here in UK… Either way, my advice is – if your paper is thin and it tears a lot – use the fabric blade! It cuts so much better and smoother. I haven’t torn any labels in ages – and I used to tear one every sheet with the red blade!
I just wished I had found out earlier, it would have saved me a lot of frustration! Maybe something to include in the manual?
Thanks, Lin! Interesting discovery and is probably a better alternative for those who deal with humidity exposure on an ongoing basis. I will add it to the list of additions to make for the next release of the UMs.
