Maxx Air and Mac problems

Trying to emboss something using the KNK Maxx Air on a mac: the work gets about halfway through the pattern and then the machine goes a bit crazy, judders a lot and the tool just cuts a diagonal line through the card and won’t pause – I have to reset it by switching off. I’m using the USB bridge at 36K baud. It’s a slightly different part of the cut each time, but usually about 1/3 of the way in.

These apparently random freakouts also happen to me with a standard Maxx 24. I’m using Make the Cut on my Mac and connected via USB. From my experience, it seems like it only happens on very intricate cuts, almost like the cutter is being overloaded. When I try to recut with a portion of the same design, it finishes without issue.

If anyone has a solution, please let us know.

Let’s try adjusting your data throttling:

click the little wrench in the top right corner of the KNK Plug-in window:

    data throttling

Next, select data throttling. I suggest changing the settings to “Pause every 1 command for 25ms.

If that still seems to cause problems, raise the ms setting from 25 to 30.

    Hope this helps!
