Do you still have the machine for sale? I am very interested. Email – email@example.com
I know it is 1 1/2 years away from your post of the KNK MAXX Air but I was wondering if you still have it? I have a Groove and a MAXX and both have stopped working.
If you still have it, would you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org letting me know a little about the machine including what you want for it.
Tried all of the same things you did and none of them worked. Turn out it was my cutter head. I questioned Chad about it and while I was talking to him I noticed that the blade holder was stuck in the down position. Turns out the spring that raises and lowers the blade holder was not working correctly. Installed new cutter head. No problems since.
Will do. Hopefully I will eleminate the problem by re-installing.
Let you know something soon.
Chad, I am sorry I asked such a stupid question yesterday about which version of KNK Studio I had. It is on the disc. DUH! I am in the process of re-installing and setting up the MAX. New cables and all. Will let you know how it turns out.
Chad, right after I posted yesterday the random cuts happened. Today I thought I discovered a pattern. No such luck. I am going to do an un-install/re-install and see if that helps. I have 2 versions of KNK Studio and I cannot remember which is the newest. Is it 2015 5923 78 version or the 3763 2602 31 version? Alsothe blade holder I am using is the same one that is available on the web-site.
Not working with thick materials at all. 65 lb. cardstock. Yesterday for some reason, it just stopped random blade dragging. Same cutting session, materials, blade, blade exposure, mat, cutting force and speed. This is the way it has been going. I can cut 100’s of items with no problem and all of a sudden it will start randomly dragging the blade. There is no pattern. I have tried to think of something in common to the random cuts but cannot. I can cut the first sheet and get random cuts in certain areas then cut another sheet of the same items and get random cuts in all together different areas. I think if I were getting random cuts in the same area all the time, I might figure out the problem. If it starts up again, I am going to do an uninstall/re-install but I still don’t think that is the problem.
Yes, I am using the silver blade holder and Cut-Mates card stock. I did the 25 post-it notes yesterday and didn’t have a problem. I also did a bread path on all of the items I was cutting (6) then we had a storm and the power went off. I don’t think the break path was the answer though. I previously had the blade holder against the stop ring with all my cutting and getting the random cuts. Haven’t tried the MTC conversion on the SVG files am hoping the the post-it notes worked. I am thinking that if it was a machine problem it would do it all the time. I am just now getting back to trying it again. Will let you know.
