When you say you pulled up a previous doc, is it already printed from the past or a newly printed version? My point is if there’s ANY difference between a past printout and one printed today.
Any chance you can share the solution with me? I help dozens of people on various SCAL FB groups and I would love to know how to respond the next time I hear someone post this issue. Thanks in advance!
Are you on a PC or a Mac?
When you first launch SCAL, what EXACT version number does it show?
Does the blade fall out if you shake the holder up and down (do this over a towel or something soft in case it falls).
Remove the bottom cap and make sure nothing (such as a sliver of material) was caught up inside the holder. Blow through the cap.
Remove the blade and then reinsert it. Push on it to make sure you have the spring retract. Then replace the cap and try again.
If you still have issues, test another blade holder if you have one. It could be a particular bearing has worn out.
If you don’t have another blade holder to test, please send me an email.
I need more details. Is your KNK an Element model for sure? At what point are you with getting your KNK to work again? Note that because this original thread started in 2018, the available options have changed (assuming you no longer have the dongle that came with your KNK Element). Please provide me a LOT more information so that I can properly help you with this.
Unfortunately, so many changes were made in Inkscape 1.0 that it’s SVG files will not load into C3. You have two options:
(1) Use the older Inkscape 0.91 (I can’t recall if 0.92 works or not)
(2) Continue using Inkscape 1.0 for printing, but then import your SVG file into SCAL for cutting. If you have issues with it working correctly, feel free to email me email@example.com or reach me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sandy.mccauley.35/
We’ll get it working! 🙂
You’re welcome! So happy to hear it arrived promptly. 🙂
I didn’t receive an email from you. Are you still interested?

Chad says they do not have any more Force pinch wheels. However, I only ever used 2 of mine and kept the 3rd in an inventory box. I’ll sell it to you if you want it. $20 + ~ $8.30 for USPS shipping. Email your Paypal address to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested.
I will check for you. I assume you live in the USA?
Okay. 🙁 You’ll need to start a support ticket with Plotter Geeks. I don’t handle the diagnosis and repairs for cutters. Here’s the link:
What I CAN do is follow up on your behalf. So, right after you start this ticket, post back here so that I know. Thanks!
You just remove the 2 screws on the left side and it should come right off. You can also open the lid on your ZA, if that helps. It pops open on both sides where it meets the end caps.
Remove the blade carriage cover so that you can examine the cutting head to see if a piece of material got caught up inside and is preventing the head from dropping down.
First of all, why do you say SCAL is not available to you? It’s very easy to reinstall and register. If you lost your registration, you can retrieve it. I can help you with all of that… please email me at email@example.com.
